Nutritionists advise against the tomato soup diet for a long time, but only for the short term, 7 days. Furthermore, during the week of the diet it is very important to consume at least 2 liters of liquids per day and to avoid alcoholic drinks, carbonated juices, salt and sweets of any kind.
Tomatoes are recognized for their beneficial effects on heart health and for their ability to protect the body from the action of free radicals. But they also have an important positive effect, namely they help you lose weight quickly and get rid of toxins accumulated in the body, without depriving the body of the vitamins and minerals it needs.
And since it’s the season for light and refreshing summer soups, we thought a tomato soup diet is just what you are looking for. Here’s what the menu looks like for a week!
Simple tomato soup recipe
First of all, let’s find out how to make a delicious tomato soup. Simple as good morning!
Boil 5-6 large and as ripe tomatoes as possible, add 2 red peppers, 2 carrots, 2 onions and a quarter of celery.
After all the vegetables are well cooked, take them out of the oven, put them in the blender, blend them, add a little pepper and parsley (avoid the salt) and, voila, the soup is ready! For a touch of freshness, serve the soup with 2-3 fresh basil leaves.
What can you eat for 7 days
Here’s what the 7-day tomato soup diet looks like, which promises to get rid of at least 500 grams per day:
Day 1 – you can eat tomato soup in the morning, lunch and evening. Possibly also between meals. You are also free to eat all the fruit on the market, with the exception of bananas. Don’t overdo the fruit though!
Day 2 – all day tomato soup with vegetables, with the premise that you don’t have to add potatoes. This day is not as permissive as the first because you are not allowed to eat fruit.
Day 3 – on this day you have “release”, as you expected, with the tomato soup, in addition to which you can indulge yourself with 2-3 fruits and a boiled potato or other boiled vegetables and garnish with a drizzle of olive oil.
Day 4 – more tomato soup at your discretion, in addition to which you are allowed, surprisingly, to eat at least 3 bananas and drink milk as much as your heart desires. It seems that these combinations of calories, potassium, carbohydrates, calcium and protein balance the body after the 3 day diet and give you the energy you need.
Day 5 – even on this day, tomato soup is essential, with no restrictions on quantity, to which a portion of fish is added, when you want (boiled, grilled or steamed).
Day 6 – is reserved for soup and steak. Yes, you heard right! On this day you can also eat two portions of beef or chicken steak, but without any other side dish.
Day 7 – on this last day, when you probably already feel nauseous just from hearing the tomato soup, you still have to put up with another bowl of soup and a portion of brown rice with a topping of fresh vegetables.
