Lentil food. Recipe on an empty stomach or with meat. Ingredients for 4 servings:
300 g of dried lentils or 2 cans of already boiled lentils (400 g each).
2 tablespoons of oil
2-3 small red or white onions
5-7 cloves of garlic
1 medium carrot
1 capia or fatty red pepper (optional)
salt and pepper
½ teaspoon of cumin
1 teaspoon of sweet paprika
1 knife tip of sugar
250ml canned tomato juice or puree (not broth)
4-6 sausages, meatballs or favorite steak (optional)

How to prepare dried lentils:
Wash it several times with cold water, put it in a pot with enough water to cover it and add salt. When it comes to a boil, leave it on medium heat for 12-15 minutes and do not stir it so as not to crush it. Drain from the pot, into a colander.
For canned lentils, just let them drain.
Preparation of the vegetable sauce:
Chop the onion, garlic, pepper and carrot and fry them in the oil for 2-3 minutes in the pan where you will later add the lentils. Add the cumin to the boiled vegetables and continue cooking, stirring until the vegetables turn glassy. Add a cup of hot water, paprika and tomato juice.
Add salt and pepper.
Leave the partially covered pot over low heat for about 15 minutes.
Add the boiled and drained lentils
Mix thoroughly so as not to crush the lentils, leave on the stove for another 2-3 minutes, add 2 minced cloves of garlic and turn off the heat.
Remove the pot from the heat and let the food rest for 10 minutes. The lentils will absorb into the liquid obtained and acquire a delicious taste.
The lentil dish can be served with fried sausages, meatballs, or your favorite steak, but it’s simply delicious, like a fast food joint. Nutritious and healthy, the lentil dish can be served both hot and cold, with fresh parsley on top. A lentil dish served a la carte always comes with a serving of pickles!
