Some sores are asymptomatic, but most are red, swollen, and painful. They are so painful that it is difficult to wear shoes or walk. Wearing ill-fitting or high-heeled shoes can make muscles worse.
Although surgery is necessary to completely remove the ulcer, there are things you can do to relieve the symptoms and stop the pain caused by bone tumors.
15 tips for treating illness
- Wear the right shoes. Wear the right shoes. Your shoes should not be tight, the toes should be wide, and the heels should be less than 1-2 inches. It should also have good arch support for your feet.
- Avoid flip-flops. Avoid wearing sandals or other shoes without arches as they put extra pressure on the big toe joint.
- Know your size. When buying shoes, ask the seller to measure the length and width of the foot.
- Size shoes for comfort, not size. Shoes from different companies may have different sizes. Go as comfortable as possible, not your normal foot size.
- Use inserts in your shoes so your feet are in the right position and your arches are supported. You can use over-the-counter medications or get a prescription orthotic.
- Stretch your toes. Take off your shoes for a while and move your toes if possible at work or at home to reduce pressure on the toes.
- Remove your toes. Use toe pads to reduce pressure on the toes at night or when wearing shoes.
- Relax your muscles. Cover your muscles with a bunion pad or moleskin to reduce pressure and make your shoes less likely to irritate you.
- Soak your feet in warm Epsom salt water to soothe and reduce inflammation.
- Ice your feet. When your muscles hurt, use an ice pack to reduce swelling and inflammation.
- Take NSAID pain relievers. Take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen or naproxen to reduce inflammation and pain.
- Elevating your legs while sitting reduces swelling and pain.
- Rest your feet several times a day, especially if you’ve been on your feet all day.
- Massage your feet, moving your big toes with your hands, keeping the tissue soft and the toes flexible. Rolling a tennis ball under your feet is a good massage technique.
- Exercise legs. Weak leg muscles can be associated with more pain and walking problems in sufferers. Some good exercises to strengthen leg muscles:
Place your heel and front foot (ball of your foot) on the floor and lift your toes up. Hold for five seconds and release.
Place your heels and front feet on the floor and lift your toes apart. Point your little toe toward the floor, then point your big toe toward the inside of your foot. Hold for five seconds and release.
Place your feet on the floor, bend your knees, press through your big toes, and lift your heels. Hold for five seconds and release.
